CONGRATULATIONS: Golden Seniors are winners of 1st TWGT Cup
Posted By: GeoMcGinn @ 01/14/2009 3:34:28 PM

Hello,

Congratulations to the Golden Seniors for winning the our first TWGT Cup. Their opponent, Stingers Elite, put up quite a fight. It all came down to final round, as both teams were tied going into that final round.

I also want to thank all the teams and players who took time out of their schedule to make this tournament a success.

I will have the draft for the 2009 season ready in a couple of weeks, and hopefully we will have more teams and players interested in play.

I will have the winner's plaque up on the site soon, and a full-sized copy e-mailed to the captain in case anyone wants to take it to a store that makes trophies.

Championship Extended Two Weeks Due To Family Issues
Posted By: GeoMcGinn @ 11/09/2008 12:56:09 AM

Hello Everyone,

Due to family emergencies in both my family and in some of the players on the teams, the Board Of Directors requested an extension of the current round, which has been granted by the Tournament Director.

The last day of play is now 11/23/2008, giving all players an extra two weeks to complete rounds 2 and 3.

I want to thank everyone who participated in our first-ever TWGT CUP Tournament.

And I have been saving all those suggestions and comments, as I want this site to be unique from all the other sites.

To that end, I will be sending out an e-mail with ideas submitted and those we came up with, and would like your input on it. Due to the emergency in my family, I may have to take a sudden trip, depending on how things go. Right now all looks fine.

Tour #2 Round #2 Has Started
Posted By: Scheduling System @ 11/02/2008 8:00:00 PM

Tour #2 Round #2 has just been activated. Please Click Here for the settings.

Play for Tour #2, Round #2, will be played as per USGA Rule 31:

"In four-ball stroke play two competitors play as partners, each playing his own ball. The lower score of the partners is the score for the hole."

An example of play: Team 1s player A shoots a 60, and player B shoots a 58. Team 2s player A shoots a 60, and player B shoots a 59. Team 1 uses the 58 and Team 2 uses the 59, because that's their lowest score for that hole. Team 1 wins the match and one point. In the case of ties, each team will receive one point.

REMEMBER: Each team HAS TO PLAY 6 four-ball best score matches.

Last week's matches, only 3 of the 6 required was played. The missing three matches may be important down the road, so, please, play all rounds.

Good luck!

George McGinn
Tournament Director
